4. a habit I wish I didn't have

I can think of so many things to write for this. I have a lot of bad habits that I am not proud of. But the one that comes to mind first... is the bad habit of being a creep. I am a HUGE creep.

I am shockingly good at finding out personal information about, well, anyone. Seriously, people come to me when they are struggling to find that cute boy in their chem class on facebook. Also, girls are always talking about how boys should have to wear an engagement ring too, so they know which boys they're allowed to flirt with. ("I thought I was really starting to like him... but then he asked me to take notes for him next week because he'll be gone getting married.") It is a serious problem. Especially at BYU.

Well, I am the solution to this problem. Give me a first name and an internet connection and within 2 minutes I'll give you the red or green light.

Once, I found out a guy's major, hometown, extracurricular activities, high school reputation, and family life, without even knowing his full name. And he didn't even have a facebook account. Don't ask me how I did it. Unless you really need to find some stuff out, then I guess I could help you...

Now, while there is a certain amount of pride that can be taken in my resourcefulness, usually I wish I wasn't this way. It's an awful habit. It's stupid and unfair and really unattractive. I always say I love a man who doesn't have a facebook. Mostly, this is because I love myself a lot more when I get to know people the real way.

So I am going on a stalking-fast. I'm not allowed to stalk someone unless they are already my friend. Wish me luck!

Dear my parents,

I think we have a really awesome family. You guys did an excellent job with your child-rearing, if I do say so myself.
I'm glad that I have so much in common with you, mom. I love hanging out with you. I can't think of anyone I'd rather spend time with than you (.... yep, I really can't think of anyone). I wish I helped out more, and I wish I would've served you instead of you always serving me. I will always remember the lessons you taught me, through your example, about how a daughter should be. I'm certain you are the best daughter out there. You should know, I always miss you more than I ever miss anything else.
Dad, you're a great dad too. You are such a hard worker, and I admire how you always try your hardest. I actually think your job is cool, and whenever people bring up accounting, I am quick to tell them that my dad is an accountant. And he's really good too because he used to travel across Canada and teach accounting seminars for the government. That's what I say. I appreciate that you always do your home teaching, I actually like the way you dress, and I love that you love to sing, even though I don't always love it when you sing along to what I'm playing :)
You guys can make a good pair.

Dear Crush,

Yup. This is exactly what you are. Because I don't know much about you, and I've only really talked to you once. So I don't like you. But I may have a minor, trivial, absentminded, and perhaps fleeting crush on you. But don't let it get to your head. Because tomorrow is my volleyball class, where I have 3-5 other crushes. Unfortunately for them, I had to write this letter today, and since you were pretty nice to me yesterday, you were the first recipient who came to mind.

Still, I think you're pretty great, and I hope you think I'm great too.

is this lame?

Alright. Do you think I should do this?? I saw it on someone else's blog and thought it was an okay idea. Each day you write a letter to the person listed... except I would skip the ones that would make me uncomfortable haha. The fact is, I don't write as much as I want/need to. Sometimes I just feel like I have nothing to write about. Which is never the case in any circumstance, I believe. There's always something to write about. So maybe this will help me get back in the game? I'm not promising every day, but I'll try a bit harder. And I'll try my hardest not to get all sappy and figurative. And maybe somedays I'll write but not post it.
